There, now there’s no confusion.

This is accurate.

I know.
![]() 01/28/2016 at 15:24 |

Wrong. Service writers suck. Parts people just suck more.

Suck more of that bandwith being on Facebook looking at memes you mean.

That explains a lot! :)

That, and generally sucking at doing a good job. Thank god our shop is just techs.

This is pretty funny, I’m not going to lie.
![]() 01/28/2016 at 15:28 |

I generally agree, but there are a few part people I quite like and know their stuff.

Aww, I knew you’d understand <3

Right? I mean, I have a pinkey up my nose RIGHT NOW.

100 true story!

Hey, I used to work in parts and we all knew our shit. Now, going to Autozone......another story.
;-)
![]() 01/28/2016 at 15:51 |

Of course you do. That’s where the pinky goes!

I still do.
If I can’t find it online I don’t even bother calling the parts stores. They’re that bad, usually. I called to ask for hog rings a while ago and the kid behind the counter had to Google it to find out what it was I was looking for.

lol, one of my techs just came in and showed me this
![]() 01/28/2016 at 17:15 |

Right? Some of my techs have been dumber than rocks and I had a service writer who I swore had never been around cars.
![]() 01/28/2016 at 17:15 |

He knows what’s up.
![]() 01/28/2016 at 17:16 |

Lol, yeah, hog rings are such a funny thing to ask for at chain parts stores.
![]() 01/28/2016 at 17:16 |

I think he is just thinks he is better than us parts guys

I figured at least ONE of them had an account that was a trim shop or body shop.
Ended up paying $6 EACH from Chrysler.... but it was a warranty job so YOLO.
Let them eat $100+ in fricking HOG RINGS.
![]() 01/28/2016 at 17:20 |

Weird, GM and Subaru hog rings are maybe $1 a piece. Though it is funny when a warranty job takes 5 or more of something small, but ridiculously expensive. Like 20 $8 plastic push pin rivet clip things.

I saw “MULT SALES QTY 10 - $6.70" and was like, okay, we need a bunch so.... I ordered 10, thinking maybe I’d get 100.
Got a bag of ten.
For $67.00
WAT.
When I worked for Mazda they were only a couple cents each. Much more reasonable.

I hate forced multiples. I only want or need one clip for a car from 1998, my system doesn’t want to stock the rest and neither do I. Its stupid. Then on top of that the clips are $10 each or something like that, but I can get a recall Takata air bag for like $14

My buddy installed Wow on the dedicated GM microfiche computer. He leveled up a few times at work. Guess which department????
